In LifeWalk we like to provide the best personalized quality service, which is why our team is formed by experts of different areas who contribute with their knowledge and experience.

Dolores I. Rodríguez-Reimann, Ph.D., . is President and Founder of LifeWalk as well as our affiliate, Professional & Personal Excellence International (PPEI). Dr. Rodríguez-Reimann is fully bilingual / bicultural and is the past Executive Director of San Diego’s Latino Health Partnership. In addition, she was an adjunct research faculty member at San Diego State University’s (SDSU) Center for Behavioral and Community Health Studies for over twelve years. At SDSU she helped develop and lead multiple health promotion and disease prevention initiatives. In this process she received post-doctoral minority supplement funding from National Heart Lung and Blood Institutes of Health (NHLBI) and National Cancer Institute (NCI).

Dr. Rodríguez-Reimann has also worked as a Co-Investigator on grants funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of Minority Health (USDHHS-OMH), the California Endowment, and other organizations. Her academic work has been recognized by Redes En Acción, the National Hispanic/Latino Cancer Network and the National Latino Council on Alcohol and Tobacco Prevention.

In clinical practice as a license psychologist since 2001, Dr. Rodríguez-Reimann drew on both her practical patient-service and academic experience as she developed LifeWalk. Much of her work with patients and clients is conducted in Spanish. She has received recognition for her professional community service from San Diego County’s Heath & Human Services Agency and the Mental Health Contractors Association.

Joachim Reimann, Ph.D is LifeWalk’s Vice President for Corporate Solutions and Co-Founder. He is also PPEI’s Vice president. Dr. Reimann is experienced in public health and clinical as well as organizational psychology. For over twelve years he was an adjunct research faculty member at SDSU’s Center for Behavioral & Community Health Studies. There he served as Principal Investigator Project Director on health promotion studies and received funding from the California Endowment and the US HHS Office of Minority Health. He also served as a Co-Investigator on several NIH-funded projects. Much of his academic work has focused on cultural competence in the provision of diabetes-related services with Latinos.

He has been recognized by the American Academy of Family Physicians as an active teacher in Family Medicine. In addition to his academic background, Dr. Reimann has been in clinical practice as a licensed psychologist since 1998. There he has provided services to a range of culturally distinct groups. Finally, Dr. Reimann has expertise in such areas as personnel psychology and work motivation, and has been a management consultant for both large and small organizations in the private and public sector.


Aida Amar, B.A. is fully bilingual / bicultural and has a background in public health as well as physical activity instruction. She has completed the University of California at San Diego’s (UCSD) Fitness Instruction / Exercise Science certificate program. She is also certified as a yoga instructor by the National Endurance Sports Trainer’s Association. Ms. Amar also worked on public health projects that centered on postpartum Latinas diagnosed with gestational diabetes and has also entailed development of Spanish-language measures. Finally, Ms. Amar has been a prolific writer in local Spanish-language newspapers and other outlets.


Maria Elena Patiño, M.Ed. Has worked in Project, Community, and Intervention Coordinator positions at SDSU’s Center for Behavioral & Community Health Studies on various funded projects (including NIH RO1s) for over fourteen years. In this context she conducted many grass-roots recruitment and intervention tasks in San Diego’s Latino communities and served as a liaison with county health departments and the California Department of Health Services, Immunization Branch. Ms. Patiño is fully bilingual and bicultural, has worked with California’s Latino population for over 21 years, and is the former Coordinator for the National Latino Research Center. She has worked with PPEI on several community-based health needs assessments.
